56 Bradford City fire victims of 1985

On 11th May 1985 was meant to be a day of celabrations for Bradford City Football Club they went top of the Division Three table by defeating Millwall 3–1. City maintained their superiority and opened up an 11-point gap over the rest of the league by February, and were assured of the championship title courtesy of a 2–0 victory against Bolton Wanderers in the penultimate game of the season, guaranteeing Division Two football for the first time since 1937. Bradford-born captain Peter Jackson was presented with the league trophy before the final game of the season with mid-table Lincoln City at Valley Parade on 11 May 1985. After 40 minutes of the first half, the worst was about to happen after just 4 minutes the main stand was on fire killing 56 people in which 2 people out of the 56 were Lincoln City fans and injuring at least 265.

11th May 2015 will be Bradford City fire's 30th anniversary and we (the fans) feel that the Football Association could make all 92 clubs observe a minutes silence for there last home game of the season just to remember the 56 lives lost on the 11th May 1985.
