We WANT 50kph in Te Awa Ave Napier, NOT 70kph

Recently NZTA/The government, directed NCC to change the speed limit on a portion of Te Awa Ave Napier from a safe 50kph to a ridiculous 70kph. The road is through a residential area and a few years ago used to be 70kph but since then more development has occurred and the road in it's entirety was changed to 50kph. Then we had a change of Government and one of its promises was to revert speed limits on various roads. We naturally expected that this would typically be main arterials, not inner city residential streets but here we are with a road surrounded by residential properties and cycle lanes etc all of a sudden now partially 70kph. To make things exponentialy worse they have not added 50kph signage to streets that connect with Te Awa Ave so we now have a large number of other residential streets that were previously 50kph now by default 70kph. This is madness; there is no sensible context that justifies this absolutely ludicrous action and we need your help to convince the bureaucratic nonsense to revert the whole of Te Awa Ave back to 50kph. Your support would be most appreciated.
