We the undersigned, call on local health authorities and elected representatives to urgently intervene and secure local GP services after Hollybrook Branch Surgery closure on Keldholme Lane in Alvaston

We are deeply concerned about the planned closure Hollybrook Branch Surgery on Keldholme Lane next month. This surgery provides vital GP services to our community. We understand the closure is due to a landlord eviction and the building no longer meeting required standards.

We believe urgent action is needed from health authorities to ensure that local GP services continue without disruption — either by relocating within the immediate locality or providing an interim site to serve our area.

Why this matters:

1. This branch cares for hundreds of local patients, many of whom are elderly, vulnerable, or managing long-term health conditions.
2. Its closure will put huge pressure on nearby GP practices, which are already overstretched.
3. For patients without transport, travelling to the nearest Hollybrook branch (1.6 miles away) will be a serious barrier to care, putting their health and safety at risk.

We call on local health authorities, local councillors and elected representatives to urgently:

• Prevent a permanent loss of GP services in this part of Alvaston
• Secure a local relocation or temporary accommodation to continue services
• Engage with the community to ensure healthcare remains accessible to all
