Support Rebel Rebels variation of license

As a Preston resident and/ or a patron of Rebel Rebel, I wish to express my support for the application number 66599A06, which seeks to:

1) Extend trading hours in the outdoor area.

2) Provide background music in the outdoor area. 

3) Increase the number of patrons allowed in the outdoor area. 

Since 2020, Rebel Rebel has been a social hub for the Preston community. The bar has served as an inviting and inclusive place for all to gather, make new friends and connect. It has also provided a sense of belonging to many members of the community who have become regular patrons.

Allowing Rebel Rebel to vary their license in the aforementioned ways will only add to the amenity of the area. 

Trading later in the outdoor area gives people a place to gather in a safe environment amongst other members of the community.

The addition of low level background music will enhance the overall experience at the bar. All other venues in the area are allowed to provide background music in their outdoor area, and Rebel Rebel should have the same right. Low level background music would not disturb the people living in this area as the outdoor area is protected by a sound-absorbing structure.

A capacity report, in accordance with the LCV guidelines, has concluded that Rebel Rebel’s outdoor area can accomodate a maximum of 198 patrons. It seems only reasonable to allow the bar to increase the number from 30 patrons, as it is currently restricted at.
