Save Dinu Lipatti's House!
Bucharest, March 19, 2025 – Today, Romania’s musical community commemorates 108 years since the birth of the great pianist and composer Dinu Lipatti. However, this anniversary is overshadowed by alarming news: Dinu Lipatti’s House, located on Bd. Lascăr Catargiu, is facing foreclosure and risks being lost.
To save this monument of national importance, Grafoart Association is launching a public appeal for signatures to support an open letter addressed to the Government of Romania, the Ministry of Culture, the City Hall of Bucharest, and the City Hall of Sector 1, urging the authorities to take immediate action for the state to acquire the Dinu Lipatti House.
This emblematic building must remain a cultural and historical space, not be lost to real estate speculation. Public institutions' support is crucial in preserving the legacy of Dinu Lipatti, one of the greatest figures in Romanian classical music.
