Pilates in South Africa

The Sports and Recreation council in South Africa, which is a Government organisation, wants to legislate the Fitness Industry and has included Pilates under Fitness.  We, SAPEPA (South African Pilates Education Providers Alliance), do not think that Pilates should be included. What do you think?  Do you see Pilates as just a Fitness Modality that should be included in the Fitness Regulations in South Africa?

By signing this petition, you are opposing Pilates being included in the proposed Fitness Regulations in South Africa. We opposed the regulations as soon as we heard about them in 2008 and our previous petition in 2010 made the South African government very aware of the global Pilates Community.
