The Stanthorpe Hospital Community Consultative Committee is seeking signatures for a petition to the Queensland Government to fund a CT scanner at Stanthorpe Hospital.
Timely access to medical imaging is essential for diagnosing and treating many serious medical conditions. Without convenient, 24-hour access to a local CT scanner, some patients have needed to travel to other hospitals, adding stress, expense, and hardship for individuals and their families.
Having a CT scanner at Stanthorpe Hospital would improve local access to diagnostic services, help medical staff make timely treatment decisions, and potentially reduce the need to transfer some patients to other facilities.
Our rural community deserves access to quality healthcare close to home. Patients and families should not have to travel unnecessarily when dealing with illness, injury, or medical emergencies.
