Omokoroa Pedestrian Crossings

I urge you to sign this petition and help push for multiple pedestrian crossings here in Omokoroa. With all the recent development and rise in population, we need to keep our children safe more than ever. We want to encourage our kids to bike, scooter and walk to school as well as around the neighbourhood. I have two young boys myself so I'm very aware of how busy our roads are, the increase of activity, and the high speeds we are seeing on uor roads. We don't want our community to experience a tragic loss like Mount Maunganui did earlier this year losing an 11 year old at the railway crossing after school. Let's act now and be safe rather than sorry.

I propose a crossing at these locations and a reduced speed limit for school hours. 

- Crossing near the skate park on Omokoroa Road

- Crossing near Fresh choice on Omokoroa Road

- Reduced speed limit school hours Omokoroa Point School Hamurana Road
