Middlesbrough College should close due to COVID-19
Middlesbrough College, MC6 and the STEM should all be closed for an appropriate amount of time due to increasing concerns over the spread of COVID-19. The government may have not necessarily said that schools should close, however it has been stated that social distancing is needed, mass gatherings are banned and we should cease non-essential travel. Coming to college requires many students to take one or more form of public transport then be in close contact with hundreds of other students, this puts us at massive risk. Education is important, but our health should always come first. In addition to this, even if the students themselves do not get the virus, they could be carriers and pass it on to vulnerable family members.
It's important for you to take the action the government has not and protect both your staff and students as well as the surrounding community.
