Media - Put focus on the "Planetary boundaries" every day!

We want to see " Studio for survival" in prime time every day the same way as it has sport studio and economics news !

 

Five years ! It is the timelimit to change human activity so that it stays within the planetary boundaries. It is urgent! Very urgent considering how large and complex systems that must change. If we do not succeed within this time frame , observations and forecasts show that the last 10 000 years of stable climate is over. Humanity is now the leading force behind the major global systems that control the climate and the state of the atmosphere and oceans.

 

Despite this dire topic has not our public service, radio and television, taken his mission on the seriousness required . Media and public education is crucial for us to have the slightest chance of success to change our behavior and control systems locally and globally. Then it takes more than a few programs on hidden channels at odd times . The “Knowledge channel”  broadcast programs like  " Planetary boundaries " where scientists give us 5 years before it is too late to act , without letting on these facts in the hourly " newscasts " which is every day on every channel,  is beyond all reason.

 

Now it is required that TV and radio in every newscast, similarly to reporting on sports events and economy , reports the state and the latest news of the “ planetary boundaries “. 

 

 

For public service it also requires the employment of journalists specialized in environment and sustainability , not least, can provide analyzes of other news and events from a sustainability perspective .
