MIFA is an organisation that has been established to provide additional football opportunities at Grassroots Level on the Isle of Man by providing and hosting tournaments for local clubs and invited clubs from both the UK and Europe and also the formation of an International Team "Ellan Vannin" to compete in Non FIFA organised tournaments at International Level.
Although the Isle of Man Football Association (A County Association of the Football Association) compete in and allow registered players to take part in tournaments, events and leagues either hosted or organised by Non Affiliated Associations or unrecognised bodies they along with the FA have refused permission for any IOMFA registered player to compete or take part in any football match that MIFA is either organising or entering its team "Ellan Vannin".
MIFA hold that it's being discriminated against at the detriment of football players on the Isle of Man who may also be having their Human Rights removed in that they are unable to participate with MIFA unless they are willing to suffer sanctions or possible expulsion from their Clubs.
MIFA will only be either hosting tournaments or competing with its representative team in the period of 1st June to 31st July which is closed season.
