Keep the canteen open on weekends
We hereby express our OPPOSITION to the recent suspension of weekend operations at the HEC campus canteen.
As students living on campus depend on the canteen for efficient and cost-effective access to food over the weekends, closing it will negatively impact our well-being, and the overall campus environment.
Our opposition to this change and the use of Gustave restaurant as a replacement dining option is based on Gustave’s demonstrated inability to handle weekday demand during peak dining hours. This occurs even when the canteen and other dining options are available to students, and the problem will be exacerbated by closing the canteen.
We urge the administration to reinstate weekend operations at the canteen immediately.
