Keep Hannah Park Goose Free!

Over the course of the spring months, the Township of Muskoka Lakes has employed a local business to keep the beach area free of geese and the mess that comes with having geese on the beach. This service has been working very well and the beach area was looking awesome and ready for swimming. However, the Township had only budgetted on a trial run for the service of this company and now that that time period is over they have decided to discontinue using the service. They have said they will return to "previous methods used" for the remainder of the 2017 season and consider hiring the goose patrol service for the entire 2018 season.  The previous methods used resulted in goose poop throughout the grassy area surrounding the beach and throughout the sand. So, just as swimming lessons are a few weeks away from starting, school is two weeks away from being let out for summer, and the busy tourist season is about to begin, the geese will also be enjoying the beach area once again. Please email our local councillors and urge them to reconsider this decision and sign the petition to keep Hannah Park goose free!
