Gen Fyansford Victoria Future Neighbourhood Village Update Request

We, the undersigned residents, homeowners, and local stakeholders of Gen Fyansford, wish to formally express our concern regarding the ongoing delay and lack of clarity surrounding the proposed town centre that formed part of the original master-planned vision for the estate.

A significant portion of the residential development at Gen Fyansford is now complete and occupied, with many residents having moved into the estate based on the understanding that essential services, retail, and community facilities would be delivered as part of the overall development. Despite this, no confirmed start date, construction program, or revised timeline has been publicly communicated for the town centre component of the project.

The continued absence of the town centre is having a tangible impact on residents, including:

- Limited access to local services and amenities

- Increased reliance on surrounding suburbs for daily needs

- Traffic and infrastructure pressures

- Reduced walkability and community connectivity.

- Ongoing uncertainty for residents and local businesses

Residents made purchasing decisions in good faith, relying on the approved masterplan and promotional material that identified the town centre as a key feature of Gen Fyansford. The lack of transparency regarding its delivery undermines confidence in the long-term vision for the estate.

We respectfully request that the developer, in conjunction with the City of Greater Geelong, provide the following:

1. Clear confirmation that the town centre remains part of the approved development

2. A publicly available revised timeline or indicative staging plan for its delivery

3. An explanation of the reasons for the delay

4. A commitment to meaningful consultation with residents should any changes to the original plans be proposed

5. Appropriate council oversight to ensure alignment with planning approvals and community expectations

This petition is not intended to be adversarial. It seeks transparency, accountability, and certainty for a growing residential community that has already invested heavily—financially and socially—in Gen Fyansford.

We ask that this matter be addressed promptly and communicated openly to residents.
