I already know the dangers on this stretch of road. I have now witnessed the aftermath of an accident just outside a primary school.

Because I do not want to see serious crashes or someone losing their lives due to speed.

I have lived on Signal Hill Rd for 10 years with children and it is not a safe street, due to the speed of the traffic.

I live on this road and even backing out of our driveway can be dangerous due to the speed of cars that go up and down that road. Something needs to be done.

Our home is located on this strip and cars are constantly driving well over the speed limit. It makes pulling out of my driveway unnecessarily complicated.

Long-term problems with boyracers and skaties- very concerned about traffic on this road and Saturday crash [ 5 students driving at a huge speed, out-of-control ] narrowly missed a member of our family driving uphill. Head-on only avoided by skillful driving on son-in-laws part.

I've only lived on Signal Hill for a year, but have constantly been concerned about the speeds people fly down the hill, particularly boy racers. Last weekend was an eye opener, thank god no one was walking that stretch of footpath.

To show people what we have right for our community....

There are frequently vehicles travelling up and down Signal Hill Road at horrendous speeds at all hours of the day and night. Extremely dangerous not only for the vehicle occupants but also for the local residents,

We have lived in Opoho, close to the school for 12 years and during that time have witnessed 2/3 serious accidents and seen numerous other 'close calls' involving vehicles, skateboards and everything in between. Every weekend we listen to cars speeding up this road, even during daylight hours. Prior to this latest accident, I was walking up that stretch of road a mere 20 minutes prior. Something has to be done!,

The speed that many drivers travel up and down signal hill is excessive. I'm amazed that there isn't more accidents, and/or fatalities. We have a young family and I am extremely concerned at the risk to them and other pedestrians.

This road is getting too dangerous to walk up and down
Guest#13 Mar 25, 2015, 06:23
Because my family live in this street and my brother in law was nearly wiped out by the car as it lost control. ..

i live on this street and share the same concerns as other residents. these concerns are nationwide as other residential streets have the same issues with speedsters. when are local authorities and government gonna get it and promote lower speeds for safer roads in our communities??

I saw the accident last Saturday and have family who walk up and down the footpath on Signal Hill Road..

I signed this petition that I too see so many cars speed down that particular part of Signal Hill Rd, most slow down but not always, even up to the Signal Hill Monument some cars race past my gate and seem to use it as a race track. I also would like to see some signage up to slow down or between 50-55 kmph speed zone. So dangerous because of the school there etc. Anywhere else one has to slow down in school areas, so why not on Signal Hill?

I live on signal hill road and have a young child, this issue is important to me.

Generally I'm horrified at the speeds people come down Signal Hill Rd.

I enjoy many aspects of living on signal hill rd. It is a great area for families to all ow children to walk to the many schools and parks near by. But the speed traveled by cars and buses is not appropriate for a suburban area, traveled by pedestrians and cyclists.

As a pedestrian on Signal Hill Road I at times feel intimidated by the sheer speed that some cars go up and down this stretch of road - obviously far above the speed limit and particularly dangerous for children and elderly people.
