Help stop the plight of welsh ponies

They need to geld all stallions to stop the process carrying on

What a cruel world we live in, where so called human`s can act in this way.
Something must be done to stop this, the government should give the RSPCA and other rescue`s Carte blanche to act ASAP and not restrict the movement of animals from cruelty and danger.
These Organizations are suffocating under RED tape.

I need my native coutry to step up to the plate and stop this inhumane abuse of our native ponies. Breeders should have to purchase a permit and a quota should be inplace for each breeder with a minimum age required for broodmares. Breeders should also be held accountable for the offsping and their wellbeing. Make me proud UK, lets stop the insanity!

What is wrong with people. We need to look after all the animals. That is our job as people!!!! Humanity is supposed to be loving and kind not cruel and harsh.

This is an absolute disgrace, this is the uk not romania or some 3rd world country. There is no excuse for this - someone, somewhere should be in charge of this. This is so cruel/barbaric - no animal should suffer so much in this day & age

I think that it's great to start a petition, we have welsh mountain ponies at home, and the thought of such beautiful animals being harmed is terrible

The person resposible for the state of these poor ponies shoul be jailed for a very long time

I applaud what you are trying to do, and hope that all can be done to protect these and all horses and ponies, i love them to death, and am heart broken at the image of the poor innocent pony and her foal, it is so heart breaking, i cannot believe how heartless people can be in letting this happen to these beautiful and precious animals

Apart from over breeding, there's bad breeding too. All sorts end up on the hills. Look at how many coloured 'welsh ponies' there are or animals that fall well outside the breed standard. I know that they round up and get rid of the colts, but they need to crack down on it more when foals are changing hands for a fiver :( Get the stallions of the hills and give the mares a break!

As a Warmblood Stud owner, breeding responsibly asnd producing top class competition horses, that have a viable future, I find it disgusting thast these so called breeders carry on producing sub standard ponies in horrendous circumstances. It is criminal and it isn't just the breeders of these poor ponies that are to blame...it is the welfare agencies, the welsh studbooks and the sales companys too that do nothing about it!!!!
