Hi Steve.A resounding HLS archaeological success in W.Penwith(archaeology is a stated beneficiary of HLS)as cattle break-yes break-a millenia's old standing stone in Tregeseal Circle,Carnyorth.Stones have been moved several times in the past 6 months by 'rubbing' but NE flatly refuse to admit that cattle do such things,despite a video on you tube.EH/NE have prevaricated and due to delays(low priority)we now have a situation where the site has been desicrated.NE's local representative,Peter Bowden,regarding damage to other stones close to this site responded that cattle could not penetrate the scrub surrounding the stones to do the damage.Of course scrub clearance is the 'speciality'of cattle(so the dogma says).In any case I followed a track to these stones through 'impenetrable' scrub two feet high and boy the thorns on the heather were awful and the density of bracken almost made me turn back!!!!!Had to clean the cow xxxx from my shoes near the stones.Perhaps NE want us to believe the forces creating crop circles are active--or is that crap circles?In archaeological terms cattle will not enter 'scrub' but they will control scrub for biodiversity(according to NE)!I wonder where NE have their bovine training academy or are these rare breed cattle naturally gifted?
