Eddisbury Square parking charges in Frodsham

This will kill the village, if we lose more parking!!

If it is a private parking company it is not a 'fine' as they are not allowed to do that. We have had previous tickets like this and not paid (see moneysavingexpert for advice on private parking companies). According to advice, they won't take people to court as they are not actually losing anything I.e. It is a free car park.
These private parking companies are making me so angry and it is time they are stopped because they prey on vulnerable people being too scared to challenge the charge.

A rediculous money making scam which will slowly but surely kill trade in Frodsham

Apart from the effect on local businesses (as people will avoid the possibility of receiving a fine), those shoppers who do visit, will find alternative parking (i.e. the side streets). That means the residents in the town centre will also find it difficult to park near their property (if they don't have a drive). There never used to be parking restrictions/charges, why now?

Sainsburys

because its the only free parking in the whole town/village. It always has been and its not fair.to the local trade or local people. I use this car park just to park in when i nip the chippy for example as there.is no on road parking.... It is absoltely ridiculous and unfair on the community.

Blatant profiteering, bad for local businesses and managed by a company with a track record for dubious practices. Nearly as annoying as our self-serving local councillors!

People will stop coming to Frodsham if there is no free parking! The local businesses are suffering enough without taking the free parking away.

How sad that a small community has to be invaded and made to suffer ie individuals ,families ,businesses ,workers ,visitors . In fact all except the people who gain financially from this ludicrous decision to target the ordinary people of Frodsham .
I cannot see why people should be penalised for visiting Frodsham particularly at night. The people of Frodsham need to stand together to find a solution that does not affect our community.

How to kill a local shop community!

The idea that you can bully people into changing their shopping habits in this way is something I find very distasteful but it is having an affect as I chose not to parking the square and walk across the road to the chippy earlier this week. Used the chippy on main street instead. I would object if you " compromise" and make it pay and display as this is probably a sneaky way of getting something we would never have accepted. I will not be using shops onthe resquare except the charity shops (sorry) until this is sorted.

Disgusting that by parking in the precinct one is not allowed to shop outside of the precinct boundary.Big brother watching

Well if it is Sainsburys that have initiated it then I won't be shopping there until more sensible restrictions are in place.

Charges will mean many people won't use the local shops which in turn will kill many small shop businesses. Many local people regularly use the car park which they will now have to go elsewhere or just park further away in local streets

And to be charged for leaving your car and walking off the square is rediculous!!

Frodsham prides itself on free parking and if they start charging people will not visit anymore.
If it starts here eventually every car park will end up the same
