My husband went to Parklands Netcare for a minor op as a day patient,Gems did not pay the hosp.en the Dr as it is i have a summon from hosp.

gems didbt pay all the monies due to hospital. how am I supposed to have money having a newborn. after finishing gynae visits paying on my own. not happy

I'm not satisfied by the way GEMS is doing as I'm paying a lot of money but the medical aid is not paying for the good prescribed medication. If you want what the doctor prescribed fo you, you have to pay or take the very weak medication and the funds got finished, you can't visit the doctor more than ten times a year and the funds for over the counter medication is little

I want another medical aid because GEMS does not satisfy me although I'm paying a lot of money. I don't have funds to go to the doctor but I'm paying

 What option are you on? Gems pays for generic medication which is the same as the original medication.

I believe that GEMS is a rip-off and does not serve its purpose. We're paying an awfully lot of money for a decent medical care that we don't even enjoy. The funds get depleted in just 3 months of the new year, but you're still expected to fulfill your obligation whereas the fund doesn't! We were better off with private medical aids not this pathetic scam

Gems is just milking us but they call themselves Government Medical Aid... I want to change to my old Medical Aid and still want government to subsidies me.....

What is the use of having a medical aid where I have to pay, far too much, for day to day (always exhausted), hospital (supposed to be 100%) and chronic (which is an neccesity)??????

I was with Bonitas with NO PROBLEMS, and forced to use GEMS with more problems as what I can think of !!!!

Get a wake up call GEMS !!!

Yes we should be able to choose. Gems has become too expensive and we just forced into paying because we cannot change .

Gems increased my premiums by R700 and most of the time my annual  increase doesn't even reach R400 so instead my salary is decreased how do they calculate this. Totally rip off!!
