Think of the people who dies here because the ambulance takes so long to come if there was a hospital open in hartlepool it could save lives, that person could get a taxi/friend/relative and they would get there quicker and be seen in stead of waiting for a ambulance for an hour or maybe more.

Write a comment...this hospital is desperately needed for the people of hartlepool.I have had the unpleasant experience of needing the a&e department when my little girl was ill. I waited four and a half hours for a doctor who I ended up going to meet at the one life at two in the morning. My little girl was no better the next day so I ended up driving her to north tees where she was diagnosed with meningacoccal septicaemia :-( thankfully she is fine now but all the while this was going on I was so annoyed because the hospital is two minutes along the road, I can see it when I look out of the window. So near yet so far unable to be used....:-(

Closing the A+E was the worst thing to do, everyone struggles to get to the hospitals further away and sadly sometimes with terrible outcomes.

Too little too late, should have tried this 3 years ago lol. If people had got up off there arses and showed support in the beginning it would never have closed. Like most people in Hartlepool, don't give a shit till it's too late

What is it going to take before officials realise that a hospital is required in Hartlepool? There's already been fatalities due to no hospital on our doorstep...it's ridiculous to have to travel so far when there's one on our doorstep that could be fully functioning if money was spent!

Cannot quite understand why Health Care Trust got away with this as it was only recommended to close old A&E department as soon as possible when a replacement had been built, NOT to leave Hartlepool without a local A&E department.

Should never of closed this hospital till at least the new one was open same day. Thetes thousands live in hartlepool. No thought to the extra workload stress etc to other hospitals we have to visit. The people making this decision to close hartlepool hospital wont even use it they will use private healthcare so dont care about us. Money talks not the people who matter

I dislocated my shoulder at the weekend my friend called a ambulance only to be called back 30 mins later asking if I'd had a stroke or heart attack then had to answer questions I had already answerd about my health! After that the lady on the phone then sent an ambulance to me 20 mins later it turned up! That's 50 mins after my first 999 call what a joke! Anyways back in my home town I had to go to a frature clinic for a check up today the doctor said I had to go to another hospital 20 miles away just for a sling because my hospital didn't have any! This is Hartlepool hospital.
