Such a statement would infer that the ordinary person in the street within England, Scotland and Wales had a hand in the deaths of 1 million + Irish when this did not happen. Those that caused the Irish Genocide are the Government Officials in West Minster in London, their Viceroys in Ireland and the British armed forces and Merchant Navy operators at the time. Many were just as badly looked down upon. Daniel O'Connell made it clear where the fault lay as he pleaded for help in Westminster. He told them in no uncertain terms that, if was up to the ordinary people's generosity, the Irish problem would be solved . He went on to say that unfortunately it was the generosity of the Parliament that was needed. The common man will never be accused of the crime by this administration.
