Stars condemn Russia's ban on Bhagwad Gita
In the wake of an uproar over a case in a Russian court seeking ban on Bhagwad Gita, Bollywood stars tweeted their shock.

Sonam Kapoor and Javed Akhtar tweeted: 'Banning Gita ? Have they lost their minds. this great book of wisdom belongs not only to Hindus but to the whole humanity.'

Singer Kailash Kher asked Javed Akhtar: 'who is banning this? Javed saab,, is this the same Gita which Indian Judiciary make people take oath? It's really funny.'

Shreyas Talpade feels that the ban won't undermine the importance of the holy book. 'Why r v fighting in LS over banning of gita in russia?? Does this ban, in any way, undermine or reduce the importance of the text???" he wrote.

It's a good step to save Bhagavad Geeta.

Bhaghavadgita is for every human. Not confinrd to any religion. A proper interpretation would help u to see the truth. If u ban u are depriving the intellectuals of Russia a good food for thought. Pl do not do that.

There is only one God, Krishna has as many names as the waves in the ocean. Russia needs to read the Bagavagita, before they cast judgement. The only one to judge is Lord Krishna.

As an Orthodox Christian, I'm ashamed of my country and of the authorities.

This is really hard to imagine what terrible outcome it would be for the whole Russian culture and modern life if one of the most exalted scripture of the Earth will be banned there. Shame.

I beleive strongly that Bhagwat Gita is the most valueable treasure for all times and it should be made mandatory to be taught everywhere in the world.
Its basic tenat and the fouundation is love,humanity and passion for everyone.This is the axis upon which our lives revolves.Best Wishes

India has tremandus history since vedic period, we can not compare any book with Bhagavad Geeta which shows real life to human being,all philosophical and psychological guidances were developed from Bhagavt Geeta ,so who haven't know reality and who have foolish knowlede people can only blame Geeta.

Bhagvad Gita is the book which gives people a direction to their life. Only those of shallow mind or evil mind can attempt to ban it. Those who believe their mind is pure should try to stop such people who make such evil attempts.
