Because is disgusting how people treat animals. I am coming back to live in NZ soon and I believe we have to fight for animals rights.
Guest#56 Jun 08, 2016, 03:34
There has to be help available to all the abused, neglected & suffering of all the unfortunate animals in NZ & hopefully something can be done about the horrific practice of dog fighting & dog baiting
Guest#57 Jun 08, 2016, 03:36
I am an NZ police officer & completely agree with this. I would happily do this for a job.
Guest#58 Jun 08, 2016, 03:48
Because its time that there was justice for all our dogs, cats and other animals being treated cruelly. Chained dogs especially must be investigated.
Guest#59 Jun 08, 2016, 03:58
because animal cruelty needs to stop
Guest#60 Jun 08, 2016, 04:11
I think this is a long time coming and needs to be put in place! I would be keen to become an NZAP officer to help bring animal abusers to justice. Dogs and other animals have no voice so we need to be that strong voice for them!!!.
Guest#61 Jun 08, 2016, 04:13
I signed this position because I deeply care for the well being of animals
Guest#62 Jun 08, 2016, 04:45
Because I strongly agree with a system where we can enforce the law for all animals. Anybody mistreating and /or abusing animals must held accountable and the animals must be removed from those people.

The dogs do an amazing job, just as the officers wo work with them. I raised a golden labrador until about 2 years old, and then donated him to the police, and he became on of the police's top drug dogs.
His name was Benson, and I saw in the police magazine often with Ross, collecting awards. I think the dogs should be recognised as Police.

Because I see people treating there animals like they are nothing, chained 24:7 not fed regularly. I've had my chihuahua attacked twice by my neighbours dog and the dog control haven't even got the support behind them to do enough about it. I was told they couldn't do anything until someone got hurt. So my dog ended up with stitches and I had a $250 bill. It could have been my son! Who witnessed both attacks and if it wasn't for the owners dragging the dog off me holding my chihuahua God only know what could have happened. I don't blame the dogs I blame the owners.

I believe there should be a licence system for public to own pets kids start with doing a short training session before they can own a goldfish then move up through the training sessions.
Guest#66 Jun 08, 2016, 05:54
Animals are not taken care of under current laws this needs to change
Guest#67 Jun 08, 2016, 06:16
Because animals have rights too and there should be a system in place to protect them x
Guest#68 Jun 08, 2016, 06:28
I completely agree in this concept and would love to work in this area - our animals deserve so much more than what they are currently getting.
Guest#69 Jun 08, 2016, 06:35
Because nobody seems to give a damn when furbabys are stolen. To some people their furbabys are their kids. What happens when kids go missing? Everything. What happens when furbabys are stolen. Nothing. These thieves think it's their God given right to take someone's furbaby. They have No Right! Animals can't speak for themselves. I support this 100%. Have u followed Bring Back Billy on Facebook? No! Well maybe u should then u will see how many people care and have been doing everything in their power to help bring these baby's home. I plead with you to seriously look at this issue and Bring on the Animal Police.
Guest#70 Jun 08, 2016, 06:36
Because animals deserve to be treated equal.
Guest#71 Jun 08, 2016, 06:42
I'd be an animal cop! Screw all the people who think it's okay to hurt animals cause they can't be bothered looking after them!
Guest#72 Jun 08, 2016, 06:44
About time NZ!!!
Guest#73 Jun 08, 2016, 06:47
Animals both farmed and wildlife get a very
poor deal in this country. Attitudes need to
change and sadly it will only change if the
law can be given some teeth.
Guest#74 Jun 08, 2016, 06:53
We in New Zealand need some good strong Laws to help the Animals. To make the Animal Abusers pay. America has Animal Police Wonderful.
Guest#75 Jun 08, 2016, 06:53
Because animal welfare is often neglected by farmers and others as they see animals as expendable economic units and forget they are sentient beings.
