I am one of the many suffering from this disease. I am sick and tired of being sick and tired. I want to live life not aimlessly walk through it like a zombie. More needs to be done to help treat our symptoms not just our TSH levels.

My Name Is Donna and I have been having Thyroid Issues for about 10 years I have taken Both Synthyroid and Levothyroxine both .3 years ago I had to have emergency Surgery to Remove my Right Thyroid due to a Hard Mass in it.Before my Surgery I was taking (2) 200mcg's (2) times daily of Synthyroid and even now I still take the same amount 3 years later and still suffer the same Symthoms as I did before.My drs just keep adding more to the dose trying to manage it but so far it has not worked.So my Normal days consist of Constant Headaches and I have gained over 100 lbs in that time.Im not living Im just Here.

Thyroid testing should be mandatory before diagnosis of depression, bipolar, panic disorders, anxiety disorders, etc.. Too many people with thyroid disorders are labeled with mental illnesses and the long term damage is not always reversible once the thyroid disease is finally diagnosed. I am one of those people. Diagnosed with depression and Bipolar despite the fact I had a goiter. After decades of going untreated and being forced to live with a mental disorder and looked down upon by my peers I finally have a chance to live among society without fear of being labeled but my body has run out of gas and I need to have a better alternative to Levothyroxine. An NDT (Natural Dissected Thyroid)would give me the chance to feel better, to live normal again. After going untreated for nearly half my life because of doctors negligence don't I deserve to be treated properly now that I have the correct diagnosis...Hypothyroidism and Hashimoto's.

I am currently on 225 ml of synthroid IT DOESNT WORK! I am only 4 11 and my dr has me on a 900 cal a day diet ...... Seriously and guess what I only lost 6 lbs. maybe it's because I'm too tired to exercise since I have no nutrition in my body. Either way something has to be done by Dr. won't prescribing anything other than Synthroid.

Please, FDA, test these drugs! We are not only asking for your help, we are begging you for it! These medications we have now are obviously not working for us! Test the drugs, please!

I have been hypothyroid and Hashimoto for 6 years, but diagnosed for 14 months. I was 18 at diagnosis. I was prescribed 50 mcg Levothyroxine right away, then upped to 100 mcg 6 weeks later, and upped again to 150 mcg 10 months later. Despite being a normal 20 year old woman with interests and dreams just like anyone else, I cannot pursue them because of my inadequate treatment of Hypothyroid with levothyroxine. Traveling is near impossible since it takes a full 7 days to recover the energy deficit from a calm 3 day trip taking an airplane. On a daily basis, I dread going to the store because I know I will barely get everything put away before I need to lay down. The multiple Endocrinologists I have seen refuse to prescribe anything but Levothyroxine/Synthroid, which for many, is clearly not treating the very symptoms we are taking the medication to try to fix. As a hypothyroid patient, I feel confident to speak for the group in saying that we just want our lives back! To be able to run in the park, to stay up past 9:00 PM to watch a movie with friends, to get to do something, anything, for a full day! For our sake, please make Natural Thyroid Hormone Replacement more mainstream.

I'm fed up of sleeping my life away, not only am I Hypothyroid I have other health issues but I could cope with them more easily if the thyroid was under control

I was able to get my doctor to switch me from LEVO to NDT and I went from feeling like I was dying and tons of symptoms to feeling fantastic and no symptoms. PLEASE help other people feel fantastic too.

All of the "specialists" are not very special! Who are we to turn to when someone whos supposed to specialize in our disorder is clueless we supper more then people realize levothyroxine and synthroid are not adequate treatment for many of us yet getting someone to test more than a tsh and actually running a FULL thyroid panel is like asking for a kidney we are paying or are covered by insurance and still feel like death im 23 and im tired tired of being tired sick of being sick tired of being sick and tired I feel aged well beyond my years my life is wasting away because of hypothyroidism and hashimotos I  want a natural perscription and cant get one wish someone would listen to the way we feel maybe you shoud join one of the many fb support groups to see how much we truly suffer there are so many of us with same symptoms its cant be all in our heads as many of us are made to feel please require full panels be taken not just tsh we need t3 reverse t3 etc listen to our symptoms we truly suffer on the inside
