SUPPORT COSEARCHING

COSEARCHING: AN ESSENTIAL PILLAR AGAINST ISOLATION. LET'S CALL FOR LONG-TERM SUPPORT FROM THE BRUSSELS PARLIAMENT.
We, Cosearchers and citizens of the Brussels-Capital Region, call for the support and development of Cosearching. Faced with the precariousness and discouragement experienced by thousands of Brussels residents, this scheme is a real safety net: a mutual aid programme between job seekers that has proven its effectiveness in breaking the isolation of job seekers and restoring their confidence, skills and hope.
A CONCRETE SOLUTION TO DISCOURAGEMENT
Faced with the inadequacy of traditional measures, which are often limited in time, Cosearching provides a complementary, sustainable and deeply human response. It is the only mechanism that takes over when everything else stops, providing the necessary anchor to maintain activity, confidence and the fight against discouragement. This is where Cosearching makes the difference: it is the only one to guarantee this remobilisation without any time limit, because it is implemented by the job seekers themselves, thanks to a powerful mutual aid community.
FIGURES AND TESTIMONIALS THAT PROVE ITS EFFECTIVENESS
Experience has shown us that remaining active in the Cosearching community promotes employment. Actiris' data is clear: Cosearching has a 57% success rate within 12 months. This result shows that by offering this long-term support, professional integration becomes a reality for the majority of participants. Cosearching does not just support people, it helps them to persevere over time, which is often the decisive factor.
But beyond the figures, it is the testimonials that best illustrate the real impact of Cosearching on the lives of job seekers:
"Cosearching has brought me many benefits. First of all, it allowed me to join a caring, supportive and highly committed community. Secondly, it encouraged me to step outside my comfort zone, interact with people who are different from me, and feel a sense of personal growth after each work session. Finally, I acquired practical tools and forged new social relationships. It's a valuable opportunity for me, especially at a time in my life when I've decided to start over." - S. Antonio B.
“Participating in Cosearching has been a boost in every way. It helps you break out of isolation and uncertainty when you're not used to being unemployed. Joining a Cosearching group is very motivating, with the aim of supporting each other and moving forward with collective awareness in our job searches. We overcome our fears with the support of others and manage to showcase our abilities and skills. The facilitator succeeded in building our confidence, guiding us well, challenging us and ultimately making us feel ready to apply for jobs professionally, daring to be determined until we find the job that meets our expectations, with complete confidence and certainty that we will manifest our ideal job.” - Virginia H.
“Cosearching is about kindness, mutual support and non-judgement of oneself and others. Thank you for making us believe and showing us that human values still have a place in today's world. This allows us to continue to respect human dignity, accept differences, listen attentively, be open-minded, cooperate and show solidarity." - Marianne A.
OUR REQUEST: SUPPORT AND DEVELOP COSEARCHING
We are convinced that Cosearching should not simply continue to exist. It must be developed so that hundreds of other job seekers in the Brussels Region can benefit from it. Today, due to a lack of sufficient resources, hundreds of job seekers remain on waiting lists or are unable to benefit from this vital support. We ask the decision-making authorities of the Brussels-Capital Region to:
- Recognise the effectiveness and positive impact of Cosearching on the well-being and professional reintegration of job seekers.
- Allocate a stable and appropriate multi-year budget so that this programme can expand and welcome more participants.
- Integrate Cosearching on a long-term basis as an essential pillar of support for job seekers in Brussels, complementing other existing measures.
