BRING BACK MATCH GAME!
ITS TIME FOR A NEW VERSION OF ONE OF THE GREATEST AND FUNNIEST GAME SHOWS EVER!
To GSN, CBS, NBC, ABC, CW:
When we watch episodes of Match Game that are at least 35 years old., we still laugh hysterically. It tells you what a great classic it was! Many of us looked forward to getting home from school in the 1970s to see Gene Rayburn, Brett, Charles Nelson Reilly and Richard Dawson. Yes, Dumb Dora was so dumb, she brought a BLANK to a press conference!
Well, while any new version of the Match Game may well never be the same as the 70s cast, we say its time to bring it back. TBS did a pilot in 2008 that had potential as did the Comedy Network in Canada in 2012. Yes, there are those who may argue that you can never bring back such a great classic as we remember it, but look at the success Steve Harvey is having on Family Feud, Wayne Brady on Lets Make a Deal - it doesn't mean they try to be like Richard Dawson or Monty Hall. And when Michael Strahan does the new version of Pyramid this year, it doesn't mean we forget about Dick Clark. It means there is a great opportunity to bring great classics into the 21st Century! And to enjoy, have many great laughs, and we think one can argue to bring some great ratings as well.
We urge you to consider bringing a new version of Match Game to your schedule. Look at all the viewership that 35 year old episodes have on GSN and the potential audience in 2016 and beyond. Lets make it happen!
