A Global Hindu Call to Protect Sacred Temples and Symbols in Cambodia

Om Namah Shivaya

Hinduism is a global civilizational tradition, not limited to any single country. Wherever Sanatana Dharma is revered, there is a shared responsibility to protect its sacred heritage.

Recent damage to ancient Shiva sanctuaries and the destruction of a Hindu deity, Lord Vishnu statue in An Ses, within the Angkorian sacred landscape of Cambodia, including Preah Vihear Temple, by Thailand is not an injury to one nation alone.

It is an affront to religious sanctity and to the shared civilizational heritage of Hindus across the world. Cambodian civilization has long honored Hindu traditions. Even after embracing Buddhism, Hindu deities, temples, and cosmology were preserved, respected, and integrated into living belief and practice. Temples and statues alike remain sacred expressions of faith, regardless of age or geography.

We respectfully call upon Hindu communities across the globe to:

- Raise a collective moral voice for the protection of Sacred Site, home of GOD and sacred statues
- Support peaceful international measures to safeguard religious heritage
- Unite in prayer, remembrance, and lawful preservation efforts

Religion must never become a target of conflict. Protecting the sacred, both temples and symbols, is a duty rooted in Dharma, restraint, and respect.

Om Shanti Shanti Shantiḥ
