Parakai and Helensville Community Member

Petition Description:

We, the residents and property owners of Parakai, are deeply concerned about the recent decrease in land valuations issued by Auckland Council and Quotable Value (QV).

This drop in valuation has raised important questions:

• Why has Parakai’s land value been reduced, while many nearby areas saw increases?
• Was this based on accurate and fair data?
• How will this affect property values, future development, and our community’s reputation?

Parakai is a vibrant and growing township with natural attractions, residential growth, and strong community spirit. A sudden drop in land value sends the wrong message and could negatively impact:

• Home equity and mortgage assessments
• Future investment potential
• Confidence in our town’s growth

We call on Auckland Council and QV to:

• Explain the valuation criteria and why Parakai was treated this way
• Reassess the land valuation if based on outdated or incorrect data
• Engage with our community on future decisions
