Protest Against Closing Down the Lukács Archive

Georg Lukacs the great inspiration to thinking humnaity is a treasure to the world. The closing dowm of the Lukacs Archiv is like the banning of Beethoven, Goethe and Hegel. This shows that neo-liberal capitalism has truned totally heatless and mindless. The world without the Lukacs Archiv is like a world without a mind and heart. Murzban Jal. India.

Excellent!!! The archive will promote to debate once again Luckas' Class Conscious Book that workers and no workers of the world need it now more than ever. We are living the "Barbarian" as Rosa Luxemburg advertise long time ago. Class conscience in times of barbarian is what the world needs.    

 It is very urgent that a team of professional trained Archivists be part of this project, to organize, preserve and plan for the next steps in saving these papers. 

INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON GEORG LUKÁCS IN BUDAPST, APRIL 27–29, 2017 Eötvös Loránd University and Central European University host an international conference in Budapest entitled, “The Legacy of Georg Lukács.” The conference aims to reiterate the intellectual heritage of this great Hungarian philosopher, to demonstrate its relevance throughout the ages, and thereby to protest against current governmental measures that jeopardize the survival of the Lukács Archive and have resulted in the removal of Lukács’ statue from Szent István Park. Approximately one hundred researchers will come to Budapest—from, among other countries, China, Japan, the United States, Brazil, and Germany—to give lectures reflecting upon the intellectual oeuvre of one of the central philosophers of the twentieth century, an outstanding figure in the legacy of Hungarian intelligentsia.
