I just can not believe how the court system is so flawed. Aiden was just an innocent little boy, just starting out in this world, and this horrible man James Purcell took his life.

The thought of a person being allowed to live after doing something like this to a helpless child is too much for me to take !! He should have been given the chair not even be looked at for early parole !!! Let him do his time i would have liked to see him get life my self

Nobody should be be allowed to take the life of a child and live, let alone get out of jail early for the crime.....He should be thankful he still has his life.

I used to know this....man...if I must call him that. He had a violent anf aggressive temper that was evident to pretty much anyone who met him. He should have been imprisoned for other acts of violence lomg before this. ANd I feel that if he is released, it will only be a matter of time until he hurts someone else

I dont know weather to say i am shocked that he is trying for parole...but then i think of our justice system and then i know it isnt shock. For once let our justice system keep the scumbag that took Aiden from us, in jail where he belongs. Anyone that could hurt a defenceless child, belongs in jail.

My heart goes out to the family of this child. I couldn't even imagine the pain that his mother has gone through, with the only condolence being that her sons killer was caught and prosecuted. Giving this man even the chance at early parole, or parole at all is horrible. This person should never be allowed out ever. My thoughts and prayers go out to this child's family and friends.

I will never forget the day while I sat in an oncology unit fighting for my life that I heard this news on the Ottawa news. All of my worries and concerns for however valid and important that they seemed at the time washed away when I heard of this. All of a sudden life took on a new meaning to me.My heart was breaking for these parents..Aidens father was a friend of my sons and even last summer when I saw him...there was just such a sadness in his eye when he talked to us about his boy. I do not believe that this man should be eligible legally or morally this soon after his conviction. Our justice system is extremely flawed.

when i found out about this the first thing i did was hug my children, i cant believe the horror this precious little boy suffered before he became an angel.my son was the same age as he was. this affected all of us as parents,a family and a member of this city. this ass deserves to rot. he deserves to be where he is. justice should be served and it will be. no one will forgive what he did and no one will forget.

I think what a lot of people don't realize is that his full sentence is up in April anyways. So even if he doesn't get parole, he will still be done his sentence in the spring. Whether he gets out now or in April, it's still an extremely unjust outcome for poor Aiden and his family.

Justice for Aiden Floyd

This man already got a lesser sentence. There is no greater pain in life than loosing a child or grandchild. He has changed a family forever. Nothing can ever bring Aiden back but the thought of his killer walking the streets a free man........I can't even express how wrong that is. We struggle everyday with what he did to this innocent child. My heart goes out to Devon. Stay strong buddy...... Love Monique and Dad
