Der Umgang des Menschen mit den Tieren gehört zu den fundamentalsten Prinzipien der Sittlichkeit. Der Tierschutz ist ein besonders deutlicher Bereich der menschlichen Verantwortung für die Schöpfung. Tiere sind lebende und fühlende Mitgeschöpfe des Menschen, die einen Eigenwert in Gottes guter Schöpfung haben. Deshalb wird Tierschutz heute immer mehr als eine sittliche Verpflichtung empfunden.
Wir haben nicht das Recht die Tiere für unsere Interessen zu missbrauchen, sie nur nach Leistung und Nutzen zu beurteilen. Gottes Auftrag lautete damals so wie heute genauso: „Geht liebevoll mit der Schöpfung mit den Tieren um und sorgt für sie in meinem Auftrag“
