Dear Nature-Conscious Citizens and Concerned Experts,

We, the undersigned, demand the immediate suspension of all Solar Radiation Management (SRM) geoengineering experiments—specifically those involving stratospheric aerosol injections—within the airspace of Hungary, Europe, and globally.

1. Introduction

Solar Radiation Management (SRM) refers to the deliberate injection of aerosols into the stratosphere to reflect a portion of sunlight back into space, aiming to mitigate the effects of climate change. The UK-based Advanced Research and Invention Agency (ARIA) has recently allocated $66 million to fund research and testing of such technologies.​UNEP - UN Environment Programme+1Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists+1

This petition seeks to present a scientific critique and risk assessment of these projects.​

2. Scientific and Technical Risks

2.1 Systemic Risks

Earth's climate system comprises interconnected subsystems: atmosphere, hydrosphere, biosphere, and geosphere. SRM interventions may:​

• Alter global precipitation patterns, potentially disrupting monsoon systems and causing droughts. ​

2.2 Health Risks

Stratospheric aerosols, such as sulfuric acid particles and aluminum oxides, can descend into lower atmospheric layers, leading to:​

• Contamination of soil and entry into the food chain. ​

2.3 Irreversibility and Lack of Control

• Independent scientific evaluations of the health, ecological, and societal risks associated with SRM experiments.​

• The establishment of international legal frameworks prohibiting artificial atmospheric manipulations without global consensus.​

The Earth, the Sky, and the Sun are shared heritage. We cannot allow secret experiments to jeopardize our lives and future. Let us collectively reject these extraordinarily irresponsible and hazardous interventions!​
