I’m signing this because I’m tired of corruption, blew through the 5 billion dollar budget and are trying to change things so that people have to pay more money or regulations and then pushing back the historic tags, all because you wes more have shity money management and expect the tax payers to make up for it. The new law put in place is unfair, and does not improve the way of life in the state of Maryland. There is zero benefit to this new law, and is only going to cause stress, and financial loss for the citizens of each county.Carl Burris (Halethorpe, 2025-05-23)

Because Wes Moore spent over a 5 billion dollar surplus of taxpayer money and is making a grab for more to fund his policies that will run Maryland into the ground. Except for being a money grab, it would have made much more sense to say "a model year of 2005 or earlier," grandfathering all existing historic registrations.Devin Williams (Hagerstown, 2025-05-24)

We live in an increasingly difficult time, where people are pursuing endeavors individually.Something as "miniscule" as a 5 year gap change would potentially harbor more harm than good financially for the state of Maryland.
We are already experiencing financial strife; Why add onto this strife by implementing a bill that would propose to eliminate the same right hundreds of thousands of people have had before us.
This bill represents the ability for individuals who have not been able to afford an automotive vehicle that is newer, a piece of financial respite that (people) have potentially waited for.
This bill could potentially harm families who cannot afford to purchase newer cars for a growing family, so they provide "hand-me-downs". A Teenager, or family, or individual who owns, operates, and has abided by Maryland in accordance to the maintaining of said automobile should not be ripped of the same right that individuals, families; Have had before.

Not our responsibility to be penalized due to a corrupt governor and his selfish careless behavior. Leave people’s vehicles alone, and stop making everyone suffer financially and physically by not allowing people to enjoy their vehicles they’ve already paid for and then some.Tim Daugherty (Bel Air, 2025-05-24)

I think it's a load of crapThis state gets enough money from people. Its a money grab because our government wastes money on stuff we don't even see. I ain't rich, I don't have money just to blow. But they don't give AF about the average working person.

Moore is a tyrant. It is illogical to have a normal vehicle registration for a vehicle that drives 30-60 days out of an entire year. It is pure discrimination of the millennial car community in particular who love their era of vehicles.Mark Blackiston Jr (Churchville, 2025-05-24)

i have a 2002 car that i drive one day a week, it will pass an inspection with ease. but it is unfair to have to pay the same price as a new car to have tags on for my one trip to the grocery store weekly when my car was previously of historic age.Patricia Schmucker (Street, 2025-05-25)

If a vehicle is already tagged “Historic” then it shouldn’t have to be retagged as regular tags. If you want to make new registrations for Historic plates 25 years that is fine, but don’t take away the Historic tags from vehicles that already have them.Jay Givens (New Market, 2025-05-28)

I am signing this petition because i believe it is extremely wrong for the law to be changed this way. I have a 2000 model year Pontiac that I currently have tagged historic, and enjoy driving it occasionally, within the current law. I have a newer vehicle that I use as my daily transportation, so it does not make sense for me to put two cars through inspection when I only drive one to work (especially considering that the registration fees have recently doubled). If I have no option but to run an obsolete 25 year old car through Maryland State inspection, it could spell the end of it as it is not a popular platform and parts are not really available. I know for fact that there are those who abuse historic tags to cheap out, but this change in the law is a kick in the face to those of us who follow the rules.Robert Alexander (Bel Air, 2025-05-29)

I currently drive a 2001 car with historic tags, it is pretty beat up and not even to sure if I could pass emissions for actual tags, it makes no sense why they would do this.Timothy Schlichting (Baltimore, 2025-05-31)

I’m signing because myself I have a drift car I specifically use for drifting, I have no off street parking so it has to be tagged and be on the street, so with saying that if this bill passes I will no longer be able to have my drift car because it will be not registered then will get towed, this bill will ruin alot of people’s livelihoodRobby Shade (Hagerstown, 2025-06-02)

Taxing vehicles that have parts that are not manufactured currently due to age and demand is not reasonable. People own multiple cars and are not driving multiple cars at the same time so why the need to penalize people who have older cars? This is a money grab and needs to be stopped.Harvey Paige (Essex, 2025-06-03)

I went to spring cruise week and may the the “mva police” pulled me up and flagged my tags even though I brought the truck for the event. Absolutely ridiculous all the stuff that needs fixed in Maryland but they’re worried about a truck with historic tags at a car showKaleb Mercedes (Halethrope, 2025-10-12)

I'm signing because, I have a vehicle that has been registered historic, and follow the rules as such. Because there are some crying vintage car owners that won't be effected, want the age pushed back by 5 yrs. I feel this is unjust and unfair.Jerry Stambaugh (Essex, 2025-10-31)

Im signing this petition because this law change just makes me want to move out of maryland, how can you actually preserve car history as time goes on, cars from 1999 and older will not always be a classic car having this status for cars 20 years or heck even 25 years makes more sense to still have it a rolling year so cars through out time can be preserved then just a certain time frame of cars being easier to preserve for history's sake, that's in the whole name of a historic tagJerry Stone (Hollywood, 2025-11-23)
