I travel that road daily. (Have since 2004) The convergence of the Delmas from double lane into single lanes at the Barnard Road intersection, volumes of trucks etc on Delmas all require investigation.
1) Delmas road as a whole from Solomon Mahlangu to Grootfontein is in dire need of reconsideration /expansion/upgrade due to significantly increased traffic volumes. 2) Improved solutions for traffic calming at Delmas/Barnard and pedestrian overbridge at Solomon Mahlangu/Boeing Road (for H/S Waterkloof is critical as well as 3) upgrade of Boeing Road from Nelmapius to Solomon Mahlangu are all some of the urgent steps required to ensure traffic/road user/pedestrian safety in the Elarduspark area

The road is a hazard. Vehicles are driving at excessive speeds and the they normally cannot stop at the traffic light on the corner. I have seen many Accidents and near Accidents that could have led to probably Fatal crashes. We also have nearly had a mishap there. A tow truck driver skipped the red robot from Pretoria side . I live close to the Delmas road and very often we hear the speeding on that road. Drivers are also inclined to take risky decisions at the traffic light. Besides numerous accidents on Delmas road due to speeding, a young child's life was unnecessarily taken when hit by a vehicle while crossing the road with her mother. Traffic calming devices may avoid future incidents.
